FAQs
Is there an age restriction?

The minimum age is 14 years old.

Any participants who are under 18 ("Young Person") must have consent from their parent/guardian and have an accompanying adult who is over the age of 18 and is also taking part in the event.

Am I allowed to ride my e-bike?

Yes, you can! As long as the e-bike is fitted with pedals that are capable of propelling it, does not exceed 250 watts and the electrical assistance must cut out when it reaches 15.5 mph.

How do I know if I was successful in the ballot?

The ballot will be drawn at the end of September. You will receive an email and an SMS letting you know if you were successful or unsuccessful. If you have been successful, you will be asked to pay for your place via a link within the email.

If you were not successful, click 'sign up today' and secure your charity place!

What gear do I need?

Without a bike, helmet and your rider number, you won't be allowed to take part. Don't forget them!

We also recommend: cycling shorts, gloves, eyewear reflective gear, a water bottle, and sun cream.

What are the rules of the ride?
  • When approaching hills, stick to the left-hand side of the road, allowing other riders to pass on the right safely
  • Do not litter at the start, along the route or at the finish. We need to respect the communities and our environment.
  • Be mindful of fellow riders. This event is for all abilities, so remember this for your own safety and the safety of others.
  • Riders must refrain from using any smoking products or the consumption of alcohol prior to or during the event
How do I get my rider number?

Your rider number and two cable ties will be included in your Rider Pack which will arrive in the post 4 weeks before the event. Remember to attach your number to the centre of your handlebars or helmet - and make sure it is clearly visible!

I am travelling by train, is this okay?

You can take the train, however, the TFL will be enforcing bans on bikes on their Thameslink, Southern and Gatwick Express services between London and Brighton.
