South East Wales PPCM Support Group

This support group, based in Newport (and also meeting online using Zoom), is for people with Peripartum Cardiomyopathy (PPCM), their family members, friends and supporters. 

 

This group is led by volunteer Claire Sheppard (pictured), herself diagnosed with Peripartum Cardiomyopathy (PPCM) in 2014 following birth of her son, Flynn (also pictured).
 

Throughout 9 years of living with PPCM, Claire has noticed a distinct lack of support for (and knowledge of) pregnancy-induced cardiomyopathy in Wales. 

 

As a result, Claire's group aims to provide a relaxed environment for people in South East Wales affected by PPCM (and their loved ones) to hear from a variety of expert speakers and to meet others living with the condition.
