Tootie is the lead cardiac genetic nurse for the Inherited Cardiac Conditions (ICC) services at King’s College Hospital and Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital. She is currently completing at PhD as a Health Education England/National Institute for Health Research Clinical Doctoral Research Fellow at King’s College London which is focused on improving the care of patients with ICCs.
Her background in ICCs spans over 12 years and prior to this she was a cardiac rehabilitation nurse and has worked in intensive care and acute medicine. Tootie will shortly be joining St Bartholomew’s Hospital as the Associate Director for Clinical Research and hopes to continue her research focused on ICC patients and their families.
She is the President for the British Association for Nursing in Cardiovascular Care and a member of the British Cardiovascular Society, the Association for Inherited Cardiac Conditions, and the Cardiovascular and the Ethics & Social Sciences Genomics England Clinical Interpretation Partnership for the 100,000 Genomes Project. Tootie is on the editorial board of the British Journal of Cardiac Nursing.
Tootie is a member of the Clinical Expert Advisory Group for Cardiomyopathy UK and volunteers for the patient support line.
